In Paris, Kathryn played twins in the French language film L'alfomega. In 1971, she moved to Paris, France, with her fiance, Time/Life photojournalist Ben Martin. Kathryn played four roles in the series: Maggie Evans, Josette du Pres, Lady Kitty Hampshire and Rachel Drummond. Upon graduation from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Kathryn landed the ingénue lead in the classic Gothic daytime drama Dark Shadows (ABC, 1966-1971), and starred in the 1970 MGM feature House of Dark Shadows in 1970. In 1962 she moved to New York to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts on a scholarship while working as a Playboy Bunny in the original New York Playboy Club at 59th and Fifth Avenue. Kathryn Leigh Scott is an American television and film actress and writer who is best remembered for playing several roles on Dark Shadows. The George and Jolene Brand Schlatter Theatre will immerse museum visitors in exhibit experiences showcasing comedy’s significant artists and bodies of work, including a new retrospective on George Schlatter’s career and indelible legacy in comedy. Schlatter is also a founding Advisory Board member of the National Comedy Center located in Lucille Ball’s hometown of Jamestown, NY where a theater is to be named in honor of George and Jolene Schlatter in August of 2023.

Schlatter has received numerous honors and awards including 25 Emmy nominations, and three Emmy awards, plus Television Critics Association Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Golden Globes, the Directors Guild Award, the Producers Guild “Man of The Year” and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was also the creator and producer of The American Comedy Awards, which honored and celebrated comedic artists and performances – the Awards ran on network television for 15 years.
